Trust the Process? Easier Said Than Done...

During happy times it's easy to say let go, trust the process, everything that is meant to be will be. But during difficult times, it's not so easy to rely on that.

During hard times a whole mess of other feelings come up. Anger, fear, resentment, confusion, anxiety. And how do you deal with these feelings that are so far gone from “trust the process”?

I don't have an answer. In fact, I’m still searching for the answer.

Right now, “letting go” is hanging out way in the back of my mind lost somewhere behind anxiety and concern. But recently, I pulled out a new writing notebook given to me by my two best friends. It had a quote on it that I had seen a million times before, but on this particular day it spoke to me.

Live every day with intention.

To me, that meant making everyday count. That means even through the difficult, confusing and anger ridden times we need to focus on the good and make the day count. Think about all the yesterdays we’ve missed because we were bombarded with a fear that eventually went away. Imagine all the tomorrows that could be passed by because we're still anxious about today, and then the next day, and the next. As we pass through this vicious cycle of fear and anxiety, we forget to live with intention and make today count.
Today, my intention is to enjoy today. That’s it. Nothing more and nothing less. And although I acknowledge that crazy-making feeling of change on the horizon, I’m not going to let it overcome my trust of the process.
At least that’s what I’ll try to do today. After all, I’m only human.
